When you enter an Airtime room, your camera is off by default. Here are the steps to take to turn on the camera to start video chatting with people in the room.
Using video with iOS
Turning on the camera:
- Tap the video icon
on the bottom bar to turn the camera. When your camera has been turned your video will start broadcasting to the room, and the camera icon
will be on.
To turn your camera off:
- Tap the camera icon
to switch it OFF. When your camera has been turned off your video will stop broadcasting to the room, and the camera icon
will be OFF.
Using video with Android
Tap on the bottom bar towards the lower right side, to switch the camera ON. Your camera has been turned when your video starts broadcasting to the room, and the camera
will be ON.
To switch your camera from the front-facing camera to rear-facing:
Once your camera is on, press and hold on your video, and a flip camera tile will pop up
- Tap "Flip Camera" to flip your camera to either the front-facing or rear-facing view.
To turn your camera off:
Tap on the bottom bar towards the lower right side, to turn the camera OFF. When your camera is turned off your video will stop broadcasting to the room, and the camera
will be OFF.
Using video on the Web
To turn your camera on:
Tap on the bottom bar towards the lower left side, to turn the camera ON. When your camera has been turned on your video will start broadcasting to the room, and the camera
will be ON.
To turn your camera off:
Tap on the bottom bar towards the lower left side, to turn the camera OFF. When your camera has been turned your video will stop broadcasting to the room, and the camera
will be OFF.
