When you go live or present content or pictures in your Airtime room, that spotlight area is called "The Stage". Up to 10 people can be live on the stage at once, and we have provided multiple tools to help you design a video chat experience that works for your group.
To view content full screen on your room’s stage on iOS and Android:
- Enter a room.
- Rotate your device to landscape mode to expand your view to full screen.
- OR tap
in the left corner of the video to expand your view.
To move the stage (available on iOS only):
- Enter a room.
- If there's content playing, or people live on stage, tap outside the tiles.
- You can pinch and zoom on the stage, and drag it to one of four corners of the chat.
Stage controls
Permissions
Members have to ask for permission to go on stage in public rooms and can only go live if the room's host or admin approves their request. Any room member can go on stage and stream live without permission in a private room. Learn more about room permissions.
Audio
By default, all content played on the stage has auto-volume turned on. When someone is speaking, the sound of the content that is playing on stage will automatically be lowered.
To manually adjust the volume of content playing on your room’s stage on iOS and Android:
- Tap on the content that is playing on the stage.
- Tap
in the upper right.
- Tap “Auto-volume is ON” to turn auto-volume OFF.
- Adjust the volume by using the slider.
To manually adjust the volume of content playing on your room’s stage on the Web:
- Click on the content that is playing on the stage.
- Click
in the video to adjust the volume.
Spotlight a video on stage
- Press and hold on the member's video tile you would like to spotlight on the stage. A menu will appear, with stage controls.
- For iOS and Android: Tap “Spotlight.”
- For Web: Click
and then click on
spotlight.
- The member's live video tile will now be featured on the stage.
Remove a user from the stage
- Press and hold on the member’s video tile you would like to feature on the stage. A menu will appear, with stage controls.
- For iOS and Android: Tap “Remove Spotlight.”
- For Web: Click
and then click on
to remove the spotlight.
- The member's live video tile will no longer be featured on the stage.
Reactions
React to content playing on stage with emojis, stickers, and sounds. From the bottom tab bar, tap . Choose any reaction you'd like to send to the room, and tap it to send. Your reactions will appear on stage.
