What is Signal?
The signal helps you get everyone's attention. It lets room members know that you're online and ready to hang out. Now you also have the option of using a Super Signal, using this signal allows you to start a phone call from your Airtime room.
To signal a room:
- Enter a room.
- Tap
in the upper right corner of your screen.
- A signal notification will be sent to your followers who are members of the room but not currently in the room with you.
To ping a specific person:
- Enter a room.
- Tap
in the upper right corner of your screen
- From a Room, click in the upper right corner of your screen.
- Tap "Ping" next to the name of the person you’d like to signal. They will be notified that you want to hang out with them on Airtime!
Note: In order, to Ping someone, the user must be a member of the same room you are in.
What is Super Signal?
Super Signal allows iOS users to start a group phone call right from their Airtime room. In order, to send someone a signal in a public room, you must be following that person by default.

How do I send a Super Signal?
From inside your Airtime Room (on an iOS device)…
- Tap the
in the top right corner
- Tap the Super Signal to start a group call with room members
Note: You can also hit regular Signal which will send a notification instead of a phone call
What do receivers of Super Signal see?
Room members will see a regular phone call on their device from the name of the Room that sent the Super Signal. By answering the call, room members will be able to speak with each other directly and easily hop into your Airtime room if they choose to be present together.
How often can I send a Super Signal?
At this time, each room can send a Super Signal once every 24 hours.
How do I stop receiving Super Signal calls on my phone?
The easiest way to stop receiving signal calls from a room is….
- Find that room card on the My Rooms tab
- At the bottom right corner of your room card, hit the
icon
- Scroll down to Signals
- Select the bubble next to “None”
- You will no longer receive signals from that Room
You can also edit Signal preferences from inside the room
- Inside a room, tap the Room Title in the top middle of the screen
- Tap the
icon in the top right corner of the room tray
- Tap the
icon
- Scroll Down to Signals
- Select the bubble next to “None”
- You will no longer receive signals from that Room
How do I stop other people from sending Super Signals in my room?
Use Room Roles and Room Permissions to control exactly who can send a signal.
To edit who has permission to send a Signal
- From inside your room, Tap your Room Title in the top middle of the screen
- Tap the button in the top right corner of the room tray
- Tap the
icon to Edit Room Settings
- Tap Permissions
- Scroll down to Signal
- Decide which room role (Member, Host, or Admin) has permission to send a Signal
- Setting this to Members = Members, Hosts, and Admins can use the feature
- Setting this to Hosts = Hosts and Admins can use the feature
- Setting this to Admins = Admins only can use the feature
